At the beginning of the twentieth century, we find a Jewish community living in the little village of Anatevka in pre-revolutionary Russia. Reb Tevye – a poor milkman – lives with his loyal wife Golde and longs to find good husbands for his daughters with the help of the local matchmaker. But his three eldest daughters have other ideas…
Full of humour, with much to say about the importance of tradition, family and finding one’s true love (despite the hardships of life in a small Russian village), it is a classic tale of life and love.
